“Charting the Future: Exploring AI and Intellectual Property in Jewellery” has successfully organized by Invest Hong Kong, HKJMA, and J-HUB on August 4, 2023. The seminar introduced the application and advantages of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the jewelry industry and various design industries. AiDLab shows the technique of combining big data and machine learning technology, the designer can create hundreds of similar artworks with only one picture in a short period of time. Baker McKenzie then offered a great opportunity for participants to learn more about the legal liabilities of AI design in relation to the copyright and trademarks, and how companies can avoid in triggered by the legal issue when using AI in their designs. Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) also send their representative to promote the “BUD Fund” in the final session of the seminar, which enables the companies to leverage government funding schemes in purchasing equipment and marketing tools and support the operation of SMEs.
