On February 24th, J-HUB hosted a 2-hour diamond appraisal experience course specifically designed for students of Tin Shui Wai Methodist College. This engaging session was led by Mr. Andrew Loo, a professional jewelry appraiser.

The course offered a rich and diverse curriculum, covering the origins and sources of diamonds, the latest market trends, basic equipment and identification techniques required for diamond appraisal. Students had hands-on experience using professional appraisal instruments, such as 10x magnifying loupes, microscopes, UV lamps, and diamond testers, to practically examine and identify natural diamonds, moissanite, and lab-grown diamonds etc. The immersed gem-laboratory environment experience, students learnt to distinguish between natural and lab-grown diamonds while experiencing the entire process of professional gemstones appraisal. The course aims to instill gemological knowledge from a young age and inspire students' passion for exploring the world of gemstones.
